Love is..

This is true love, she stuck with him though it all. She’s not a nobody as well, she’s a highly educated trial lawyer. That Robert Ebert even dated Oprah for a while.

It reminds me of the couple I met in the park, very happy couple. Dark skinned girl from Kenya and her geeky husband and their baby. She is in a wheel chair from an accident and he stuck by her and cared for her.

Now ask yourself is YOUR partner REALLY going to stick by you?

Chrispy chickeeeeen.

Girls I know Tyler Perry movies are filled with stereotypes; See Diary of a Black Woman (Colourism) for example.

But seriously, he can make a tear dripping drama. The scenes with the young girl and her aunt had me in tears. It does help that it has that white hottie from CSI Miami. Adam Rodriguez. It’s good he has at least one good Interracial couple in the movie. The last one was in The family that preys. And Jesus that had me spitting fire.

You know this is pain porn. And we black women, well maybe not in Sweden, Black girls here are spoiled and soft. And they should be and have the right to be just like white women. We who lived through it gets off on it. It reminds us of how hard our lives are. Abuse from our men, Rape from our men. Having children who don’t have a father. Not to mention the sexism and racism.

So would I recommend this movie for people? Yes if you can see through the stereotypes and see it for what it is. Pain porn. Just like precious. At least it wasn’t a make a white person feel good movie like ‘The Help’.

Somebody told me once that pain is a game we all gotta play.

I’m no feminist.

White privilege at its fullest.

Y’all know I’m not a feminist, white feminism is not for me. I’m a womanist. Well maybe you don’t know. Being a feminist is for white women filled with white privilege. Believe me being white outweighs being a woman.

You know many of them means well but it many just don’t get it. White women have a hard time enough just thinking about black women as women. Always have to be black women as a thing not as a woman. A black woman is not afforded the same protection a white woman is no matter what you think. I don’t fit into the white monolithic feminist world.

Sister Sojurner Truth said it best, Ain’t I a woman?

Well, children, where there is so much racket there must be something out of kilter. I think that ‘twixt the negroes of the South and the women at the North, all talking about rights, the white men will be in a fix pretty soon. But what’s all this here talking about?

That man over there says that women need to be helped into carriages, and lifted over ditches, and to have the best place everywhere. Nobody ever helps me into carriages, or over mud-puddles, or gives me any best place! And ain’t I a woman? Look at me! Look at my arm! I have ploughed and planted, and gathered into barns, and no man could head me! And ain’t I a woman? I could work as much and eat as much as a man – when I could get it – and bear the lash as well! And ain’t I a woman? I have borne thirteen children, and seen most all sold off to slavery, and when I cried out with my mother’s grief, none but Jesus heard me! And ain’t I a woman?

Then they talk about this thing in the head; what’s this they call it? [member of audience whispers, “intellect”] That’s it, honey. What’s that got to do with women’s rights or negroes’ rights? If my cup won’t hold but a pint, and yours holds a quart, wouldn’t you be mean not to let me have my little half measure full?

Then that little man in black there, he says women can’t have as much rights as men, ’cause Christ wasn’t a woman! Where did your Christ come from? Where did your Christ come from? From God and a woman! Man had nothing to do with Him.

If the first woman God ever made was strong enough to turn the world upside down all alone, these women together ought to be able to turn it back , and get it right side up again! And now they is asking to do it, the men better let them.

I’m not a feminist because life has taught me feminism is not for the people who looks like me. Feminists brings me and my kind up when they want to use us for a purpose, like the cake incident where racism tainted everything. Sisterhood only last as long as you don’t question their motives.

Asian girls got moves. Ok I like Dancehall. I know it’s about as sexist as things come. Also know that the clubs here in Scandinavia sucks. Filled with bums and unemployed people and white women looking for the black Mandingo experience. Oh yeah no one can dance here. It’s the new meeting place for white women wanting mulatto children and Gambian men looking a sugar mummy. It’s true, just check out folketspark in Malmö. Tons of white single mom’s with mulatto children, Seriously I’ve never seen an old Black man/white woman couple here in Sweden. Closest thing I’ve seen is an adopted Black man but that don’t really count. I might just write a post about the dynamics of interracial couples in the world and Sweden. And what becomes of the children of these unions, which can be quite interesting.

It’s a shame really that the dance scene here sucks. But what can you do.
